CARING FOR SMALL ANIMALS

A minimum of 60 x 30cm for a small group, with tunnels, nesting areas, and exercise opportunities.
Clean cage weekly, spot-check daily, and use paper-based or aspen bedding.
Use high-quality mouse pellets, supplemented with small amounts of fruits and vegetables.
Rats would ideall have a multi-level cage with at least 80 x 120cm floor space per pair, with plenty of tunnels, shelves, and hiding spots.
Spot-clean daily and replace bedding weekly. Paper-based or hemp bedding works best; avoid pine or cedar.
Offer a mix of commercial rat pellets, fresh vegetables, and occasional treats. Always provide clean water.
At least 120cm x 60 cm per pair, plus a secure run for exercise. Ensure hiding spaces and tunnels are included.
