Rob and Mary Walker purchased the Toowoomba store in 2003, when Aquabird was located in South Street. The business later moved to the Bernoth Centre on Ruthven Street in 2012, where the Toowoomba store remains today. In 2006, Aquabird expanded with the opening of its Warwick store, giving customers across the Southern Downs access to a broader range of pets, supplies and specialist advice. Over the years, Aquabird has grown alongside the local pet community, but its purpose has remained the same: helping people care for their animals with confidence.
